After spending over 60 days in detention,and in view of the incident where some of them fainted when they were arraigned in a court of law,due to the poor conditions of the places they were held,a National sympathy was raised on their behalf.
Inspite of the position of the Law insisting that they were all culpable especially for the fact that they were waving the Russian Flag and asking the Foreign Country to take over power in Nigeria ,an act described as TREASON ,the President waved all the issues aside and set the citizens free.
There was concern when the Kano Indigenes were given a bail in the sum of Ten Million Naira each and it was unthinkable how it could ever be perfected.
