The Argungu International Fishing and Cultural Festival that holds annually in Nigeria is to take place soon.
The Festival that takes place in Kebbi State of North Western Nigeria inside the Matan Fada River runs for four days between late February and March every year.
Series of water competitions including hand fishing,canoe racing,wild duck catching are featured.
Other notable events include traditional wrestling and boxing by boys and men while women provide encouragement through songs and dances.
The Sarkin Ruwa is the Family that manages the sanitation of the River.
The Festival is listed among UNESCO's Intangible Heritage and the Winner that catches the biggest  fish can take home as much as Seven Thousand,Five Hundred US Dollars(7500)
In 2020,the winner that got Ten Million Naira,plus two new cars and two Hajj Seats was the man that caught a fish that weighed 78 kg.
The Festival was put on hold for Ten Years due to Security concerns before its return in 2020
