they granted independence to their colonies maintained a
system where they "Frenchified" the citizens of their colonies
which made the citizens "imitation Frenchmen"
It was a method that gave their Independent colonies the
impression that they were part of the French culture.
A policy of Assimilation was introduced that had so many
conditionalities that had to be changed to that of Association.
Just like the name sounds,the policies have run for sometime
now but their "dates of expiry" have come.
Early Nationalists like Leopold Sedar Senghor who would later become
the President of Senegal floated the concept of Negritude that
represented a consciousness and renaissance among the
French Africans.
A new era has come for the African Frenchmen.
The momentum is difficult to pull back now
